sexual violence and sexual threat

A man chases down a frightened woman, knocks her to the ground and, it is implied, rapes her. The sequence is strong but visually discreet, and is filmed from a distance. There are also infrequent references to a man having intended to marry his own daughter.

threat and horror

There are scenes of strong supernatural threat with occasional ‘jump scare’ moments, when people are attacked by demonic entities. A seemingly dead bat-like creature springs to life in a man’s hands and lunges towards him; he stomps it to death, resulting in gory close-up aftermath images. There are also scenes of demonic childbirth featuring strong horror and bloody detail.

violence

There are brief gory images of a head being hacked away from a body. A demon is stabbed in the throat and is subsequently shown pulling the knife out, with strong bloody detail. Several sequences feature muffled cries of distress which are attributed to off-screen domestic abuse.

There is a short sequence of discrimination, when a man yells abuse at homeless immigrants from a passing car. There are verbal references to attempted suicide. In another scene we briefly see the bare genitals of a corpse. Other issues include infrequent use of strong language (‘f**k’).
