Extended Classification Information (*SPOILER ALERT* Information may include plot details)
THOMAS & FRIENDS - MAKING TRACKS TO GREAT DESTINATIONS is a new story featuring the famous train and his friends, now narrated by Pierce Brosnan.
The film was classified 'U' for some
very mild scary scenes.
These include a sequence in which Thomas gets scared as he floats down a dark and disused mine shaft, and a scene in which he has to cross a bridge just as it begins to collapse. At 'U', the BBFC's Guidelines state that there should be 'occasional mild threat or menace only', and that the outcome of scary elements should be reassuring. In the case of this film, such events are indeed very mild in depiction and Thomas emerges unscathed.
The film also contains a story-line in which Thomas becomes jealous of his new colleague and tries to get him into trouble by tricking him, but the outcome of this is very much positive with the characters learning that cooperation and teamwork are far more effective.
