YOUR HIGHNESS is a comedy adventure film about a prince who undertakes a quest to rescue his kidnapped bride, and who is accompanied by his lazy brother. It was classified '15' for strong language, sex references and comic bloody violence.

The BBFC's Guidelines on language at '15' state that, 'There may be frequent use of strong language (for example, 'fuck')'. There are several uses of strong language that sit within this allowance.

The Guidelines for sex at '15' state that, 'There may be strong verbal sex references to sexual behaviour, but the strongest references are unlikely to be acceptable unless justified by context'. There are strong verbal sex references throughout the film. These include a man remarking 'He wants us to jerk him off', 'What if he butt-f**ked her?', 'Everyone in the kingdom wants to suck your dick', and a basic outline drawing showing a man sexually penetrating a woman. These references are played for comic effect, but are too strong to be allowable at '12A'/'12'.

At '15', the Guidelines for violence state, 'Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury. The strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable'. The occasional comic violence includes sight of blood spraying from humans and fantasy creatures when they are slashed or impaled by swords. Such injuries are shown only briefly but the effect is sometimes strong with blood and tissue damage clearly visible. As with the sex references, the violence, and the bloody detail, in these scenes is played for comedic effect. But they nevertheless also take the film beyond '12A'/'12'.

YOUR HIGHNESS also contains some comic drug references including a scene where the heroes are invited to breathe an unnamed herb. One of them reacts negatively to the seemingly hallucinogenic experience in a manner which is unlikely to promote or encourage drug misuse. Some female breast and buttock nudity also features, as does some mild and moderate language (for example, 'pricks', 'whore', 'bitch', 'shit', 'bastard').
