X+Y is a drama about an autistic savant teenager who goes to a maths camp in Taiwan, hoping to be chosen to represent Great Britain at an International Mathematics Olympiad.

Language

There is some strong language ('f**k') but most of it is used in a comical rather than aggressive fashion. There is also mild and moderate bad language ('piss off', 'shit', 'bastard', 'oh my God', 'bloody', 'crap', 'twat', 'arse', 'Christ', 'dickhead', 'dick', 'shagged').

Drugs

One of the adult characters is seen smoking a joint but it is suggested that this is for the purpose of relieving the pain of his multiple sclerosis.

Injury detail

There is a brief image of a man's bloody injuries that are incurred in a car crash.

Self harm

A teenager is seen to cut his forearm with a compass. The implication is that this is his way of dealing both with the pressure of expectation and with disappointment.

There are some sex references, mostly in relation to the impotence of one of the adult characters.
