TO THE WONDER (2012)

TO THE WONDER is a drama directed by Terrence Malick about a couple who move from Paris to Oklahoma, where their relationship soon runs into difficulty. It is rated 12 for moderate sex and nudity.

There are a few sex scenes, which are relatively brief and discreet. In a couple of sequences, we see a man kissing down the front of a woman who is wearing a short slip or nightie. Oral sex could possibly be inferred but there is no visual confirmation of this. Two other sex scenes include brief glimpses of breast nudity but the kissing and embracing of the couple is not accompanied by any further sexual activity. The scenes focus primarily on the emotions of the characters rather than on the mechanics of sex.

The film also contains a scene in which a woman, in a state of emotional turmoil during an argument with her husband, empties a bottle of prescription pills into her mouth in a melodramatic gesture. However, the man manages to stop her and she does not swallow any of the pills.

No-one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. No-one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video or DVD.
