VIDEODROME is a science fiction horror film from 1983, about a cable television manager who discovers a controversial new type of programming to attract his audience.
- Sex
There are scenes of strong sex and nudity, including some with a sadomasochistic edge as a woman is shown asking for her ears to be pierced during intercourse, and then putting a lit cigarette to her breast. The woman also makes references to being sexually excited by violent images.
- Violence
There are scenes from a television show in which men and women are subjected to sadistic punishment in a torture chamber where they are restrained, and then whipped and strangled. These scenes are brief and stronger detail is obscured by the grainy quality of the images. There are also scenes of strong bloody violence featuring shootings, and strong gore in horror images of bodies transforming in a grotesque manner or being split apart from within.
