UPSTREAM COLOR is a drama about a couple who are drawn together after a shared experience.

Injury detail

The moderate bloody images include a sequence in which a character attempts to cut out creatures that are moving beneath their skin. Blood is seen dripping onto the floor in close-up and there is very brief sight of a knife sticking in flesh. There is also sight of blood as a worm is drawn out of a character's leg and wrapped around a stick. There is no detail of the wound, just sight of the bloody creature. Keyhole surgery is seen on a TV screen in an operating theatre, but the image is blurry and there is no clear detail of what is happening.

A sex scene between two characters focusses only on their head and shoulders. The film also contains a brief reference to a woman being addicted to illegal substances. Bad language consists of a single use of 'shit'.
