Disturbing images

Through library footage and photographs, the film presents images of war, conflict and civil disorder in which violent actions are committed. These include executions by firing squads and footage of a man being stabbed and kicked to death on a street in Egypt. There are also images of death in the aftermath of violence, such as piles of bodies in Nazi concentration camps. There is also footage of animal killings, including cattle being herded into the slaughter chamber of an abattoir. The slaughter is not shown in full detail. The images of real human and animal killings are used to illustrate themes and arguments being set out in the film by its maker.
