UNDER THE TREE is an Icelandic drama in which a man moves back in with his parents who are involved in a bitter neighbourly dispute over a tree.

Violence

A character is stabbed and another's throat is slashed, causing spurts of blood and aftermath sight of pooling blood.

Sex

There are brief scenes of sex with thrusting detail. Sex references include multiple references to masturbation and sex tapes, as well as briefer references to sexual acts including digital and anal penetration. There are occasional scenes which feature female breast nudity.

There is infrequent use of strong language ('f**k'). Milder terms include 'bitch', 'shit', 'bullshit', 'asshole' and 'bloody'.

A woman becomes very distressed on discovering the body of her pet dog after it has been euthanised and stuffed.

There are infrequent, non-graphic references to suicide and bereavement.
