TRIANGLE is a horror-mystery thriller about a woman who experiences a disturbing phenomenon when she goes on a group boating trip in the Bermuda Triangle. The film was classified '15' for strong violence, horror and language.
The film contains scenes of strong violence, sometimes of a bloody nature, as characters are injured by gun shootings and nasty accidents. The BBFC Guidelines on violence at '15' state 'violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury'.The scenes of violence in the film do not dwell on the pain and injury suffered; they are presented in a mostly impressionistic style and with a sense of confused terror and violence. There isn't much focus on blood or injury beyond establishing the impact of the shootings and injury to characters in the story.
At '15', the BBFC horror Guidelines allow for 'strong threat and menace', which reflects the atmosphere and tone of this film accurately. There are no aggravating elements to this threat as it is a mysterious, existential threat of a strong nature rather than anything ferocious or sadistic.
The film also contains around sixteen uses of strong language. The language Guidelines allow for 'frequent use of strong language', thus defining these particular uses, in both strength and frequency, as allowable at '15'.
