THE THING, a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 film, is a horror drama in which group of scientists in the Antarctic are terrorised by an alien that can replicate the appearance of the people it kills.

Injury detail

When humans are 'absorbed' by the alien, there is some sight of gore as their bodies are taken over and 'transformed' by the alien. This includes sight of a man's face splitting open and tentacles erupting from his body.

Violence

The majority of the violence and gore occurs when the alien creature is attacking humans or 'absorbing' their bodies. The creature attacks its victims with spikes, claws and tentacles and these are seen to enter and exit people with some bloody detail.

Language

There is use of strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder terms such as 'bitch' and 'shit'.
