SWINGING WITH THE FINKELS is a comedy drama about an unhappy couple who turn to 'swinging' in order to solve their marital problems. The film was classified '15' for strong sex, sex references and language.

There is a scene in which it is implied a woman is masturbating with a cucumber. The focus is almost entirely on the woman's face and feet, as she moves about on a bed, and there is much comedy and embarrassment when her husband and grandparents walk in on her. In addition, there are various strong sex references throughout the film, such as an elderly lady announcing to other women in a salon, "I still masturbate twice a week, sitting on the tumbledrier does the trick", and a woman commenting about her partner that "Henry likes me to pee on him". A couple wearing fetish gear discuss 'punishment' and the man whips the woman across her covered front as she talks about the money she has spent on shopping. There are also references to crudely-titled cocktails, including "Screaming orgasm - or jism on the face", "One in the eye" and "Anal Blast". Later on, after a couple kiss, the woman says "It must be the jism on the face, you can taste it", referring to the drink. The comic strong sex and sex references are permissible at '15' where the BBFC's Guidelines state 'Sexual activity may be portrayed without strong detail. There may be strong verbal references to sexual behaviour, but the strongest references are unlikely to be acceptable unless justified by context'. The strength of the verbal references is mitigated by their comic context and by the lack of accompanying detail, and there is no strong detail in the sexual activity.

The film also contains five uses of strong language. This exceeds the terms of the Guidelines at '12A'/'12' which state 'The use of strong language (for example, 'fuck') must be infrequent' but is permissible at '15' where 'There may be frequent use of strong language'.
