SUBURBICON is a dark comedy drama in which a family are attacked in their home but prove to be strangely reluctant to identify their attackers.

Violence

A family, including a small child, are knocked out with chloroform in a prolonged sequence. A man is poisoned and subsequently stabbed with a poker, causing blood to splatter over his attacker.

Language

The strong language ('f**k' and 'c**ksucker') is used largely in an aggressive and threatening manner.

Sex

After sounds of sexual activity are heard a couple are revealed in a sexual position while engaged in apparent sexual fetish activity.

There is a subplot focusing on racism, which includes discriminatory language ('nigger').
