SUBMERGENCE is a drama in which a scientist on an undersea expedition and a man imprisoned by terrorists separately recall their brief love affair.

Threat

There are several scenes in which a man is threatened with execution by terrorists. In one scene, he walks out into the sea in front of a firing squad. They pretend to shoot him, and the man is briefly traumatised and remarks that he has soiled himself. In another scene, a woman is buried up to her neck and stoned to death; however, the stoning is heard but not shown.

There is also infrequent strong language ('f**k').

In some scenes, a man is briefly beaten; however, there is limited detail.

Some scenes show a man's cut, bruised and swollen face.

There are also some love scenes; however, there is no strong detail.
