SOUL BOYS OF THE WESTERN WORLD is a documentary about the British 1980s New Romantic band Spandau Ballet.

Language

Infrequent use of strong language ('f**k').

Sex

A montage of images illustrating Soho in the 1970s includes still photographs of topless women posing in advertisements for strip clubs. A later montage shows topless women sunbathing on the beach at St. Tropez.

Drugs

There are references to drug use, including one band member saying that, "Ganja... helped us slow down a little bit," and later someone saying that when the band became successful he was, "Living on champagne, cocaine and adrenaline... I'm not going to lie, I f**king loved it!" No drug use is shown and the film as a whole does not promote drug use.

Further issues include archive news footage of police rushing at a crowd, hitting out with batons, footage of keyhole surgery on a band member's knee, and footage of a fishmonger cutting the head off a live eel.
