SINGAM II

SINGAM II is Tamil language feature, with English subtitles, in which an Indian policeman called Singam almost single-handedly takes on anti-social disturbances, riots, and an international drug smuggling plot. The film is rated 12A for moderate violence and infrequent strong language.

There is frequent action violence throughout. This includes hand-to-hand fighting with heavy kicks and punches, and occasional crunching sounds suggesting that someone's neck has been broken. Other sequences involve the use of weapons, such as wooden bats, staffs and machetes, although the weapons are employed without any strong detail being shown. There are several scenes in which people are shot, with some small spurts of blood and sight of blood visible on their clothing afterwards. There is no dwelling on injury detail, however, and the shootings are shown very quickly. When the body of a man who was thrown overboard from a ship is later found, it is almost skeletal and not strongly gory.

There is infrequent use of strong language ('f**k'). There are two uses by the main villain and a single use by Singam as he repeats the villain's rude comment about the police back to him, slapping him across the face in displeasure.

Part of the plot is about drug smuggling and we see large bags of white powder being packed up and shipped. There is no sight of actual drug use.

No-one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. No-one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video or DVD.
