SICILIAN GHOST STORY is an Italian thriller in which a young girl searches for her friend after he goes missing.

Threat

A young boy is kidnapped by the Mafia and imprisoned for an extended period of time in poor conditions. He is chained up, occasionally hooded, and references are made in one scene to him defecating in his bed. Other scenes include two children being chased by a dog and a young girl experiencing surreal visions.

Language

There is use of strong language ('c**ksucker', 'f**k').

Violence

A chord is placed around a young boy's neck and tightened, and it is implied that his body is placed in a barrel of acid. The contents is then emptied into water, and the remains of his body tissue is shown sinking under the surface.

There is brief natural breast and buttock nudity, and a young boy is presented with an erotic book featuring a stylised cartoon image of a nude woman on the cover. There is also a brief scene of sex, with sight of thrusting but no graphic detail.
