THE SEAGULL is a period drama based on the play by Anton Chekhov in which an actor leaves Moscow to visit her terminally ill brother.

Violence

In one scene the sound of a gun firing, followed by sight of blood spattering against a window, implies that a man has attempted suicide. An offscreen sound of a gunshot in another scene also implies suicide.

There is brief buttock nudity when a man strips to dive into a lake. A woman is seen inhaling snuff as a man tells her is a filthy habit. There is mild bad language ('bloody', 'God'). A man shoots a seagull, although the impact is not shown. Later there is sight of the dead seagull.
