SAME KIND OF DIFFERENT AS ME is a US drama, based on a true story, in which a wealthy art dealer and his wife form an unlikely friendship with a homeless man.

Discrimination

Flashbacks to a black character's youth show him being verbally abused by white characters, with slurs levelled against him including 'nigger', 'negro' and 'boy'. As an adult, the same character also encounters racism in the present day. Discriminatory attitudes are not condoned by the work as a whole.

Violence

Violent scenes include a noose being looped around a character's neck and his body being dragged along the ground by a man on horseback. The images appear very fleetingly and there is no dwelling on detail. Further moments of violence include a character smashing furniture and windows with a baseball bat.

Other issues include mild sex references and undetailed verbal references to drug misuse.
