THE SALESMAN is an Iranian film in which a couple's relationship begins to unravel as they prepare for their roles in a local production of Arthur Miller's 'Death of a Salesman'.

Violence

It is implied that a woman is sexually assaulted. There is no sight of the attack, but there are several discreet verbal references including dialogue such as "I was washing my hair and I thought it was you... He stroked my hair. But then I saw his hands...".

There is a scene of moderate violence in which a man slaps another man's face.

There is moderate injury detail when a character is seen having a head wound stitched in hospital.

Sex

There are references to prostitution when characters refer to a woman having "too many visitors" and "being promiscuous". There is also a use of the term 'hooker'.

There is mild bad language ('God', 'piss', 'jerk', 'screws', 'crap', 'ass', 'damn', 'hell', and 'son of a bitch').
