SAFE HAVEN is a romantic thriller about a young woman from Boston who tries to escape a violent past to start a new life in a small seaside town in Virginia. It is rated 12A for moderate threat, violence and sex.

There are scenes of threat, when the central character's husband finds her and appears willing to use violence to take her back. He threatens a child that he briefly takes hostage, and also douses himself and a house in gasoline. There is moderate violence, including in a domestic setting with a masked stabbing and a shooting.

There is also a moderate sex scene, but any detail is masked by sheets.

Mild bad language is limited to the use of 'shit'.

No-one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. No-one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video or DVD.
