ROOM 237 - BEING AN INQUIRY INTO THE SHINING IN 9 PARTS is a documentary about possible hidden meanings in Stanley Kubrick's film THE SHINING.

Violence

A man is stabbed with an axe in a clip from THE SHINING. Clips from other films include part of the nightmare sequence from AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, in which storm-troopers in masks burst into a home. There is also sight of a boy falling onto spiked railings in a dream sequence from SPELLBOUND.

Threat

The documentary includes some of the horror moments from THE SHINING, such as repeated shots of blood spilling from a lift and sight of dead twins soaked in blood.

Nudity

A naked woman stands up in a bath and embraces a man in a clip from THE SHINING. There are also scenes from other films that feature topless women.

There is a brief written reference to incest, when we see a close up of a magazine cover.
