ON THE ROAD is an adaptation of the Jack Kerouac novel published in 1957. It follows a young writer in the late 1940s and early 1950s as he travels around the US.

Sex

There are a number of sex scenes, which are occasionally protracted and feature sight of sexual thrusting and breast nudity. There is a scene in which a woman fellates a man whilst he is driving and another scene in which the woman masturbates two men as they sit in a car with her.

There are some strong verbal sex references, including crude references to genitals and oral sex.

Drugs

Drug use occurs throughout the film, including the smoking of marijuana joints and the taking of Benzedrine. In one scene a man injects heroin, although little detail is shown. There are also verbal references to taking opium.

Language

There is occasional use of strong language ('f**k'), as well as some moderate and mild bad language, including uses of 'bitch', 'cock', 'piss', 'shit', 'son of a bitch', 'screwed', 'bastard' and 'God'.
