RISEN is a drama in which a Roman tribune is tasked with locating Jesus' body following its disappearance after the Crucifixion.

Violence

There are moments of moderate violence, including a scene of crucifixion which includes the implied breaking of the victims' legs to hasten their deaths, a stabbing, and sight of blood and cuts across their bodies. In another scene, an exhumed body carries marks of crucifixion on its arms and legs.

Violence also occurs during a battle scene, in which characters fight with swords, spears and projectile weapons.

There are infrequent mild sex references when a character is referred to as "a woman of the street", and it is implied she has slept with many men.
