RISE OF THE FOOT SOLDIER is a hard hitting drama, based on true events, about East End gangsters.

Violence

The strong violence initially takes the form of brutal fights between rival groups of football supporters, with some brutal scenes of kicking, punching and head-butts. It later develops into even more violent scenes between rival criminal gangs, with images of stabbings, fingers crushed with hammers or chopped with axes and a man's teeth being ripped out with pliers. There are also some graphic images of corpses in a morgue.

Drugs

There are scenes of strong hard drug use throughout, including a principal character using performance enhancing drugs like testosterone and anabolic steroids, snorting cocaine, and injecting ketamine and heroin. Elements of the drug use also incorporate scenes of sexualised nudity.

Language

There are more than 50 uses of very strong language (‘c**t’), with most being aggressive, accompanied by violence and in some cases used by men towards women. There is also very frequent use of strong language (‘f**k’).

Other issues include some moderate sex and nudity.
