[REC] 3 - GENESIS is the third in a series of Spanish horror films. In this film the infection that turns people into flesh-eating zombies spreads at a grand wedding reception. The film was classified ‘18’ for strong bloody violence.

In the early part of the film the action is viewed through shaky and occasionally distorted handheld video camera footage, a stylistic device used in the first two films in this horror series. But this gives way to a more conventional filming style after the first main sequence of bloody violence as the infection spreads among wedding guests. Violence, committed by zombies on humans and vice versa in the fight for survival, includes dismemberment, decapitations and flesh being ripped from bodies. The bloody detail and gory horror is occasionally seen in close-up with a sustained focus on injuries. It exceeds the allowance under the BBFC's Guidelines at '15' which state 'Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury. The strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable’.

The film also contains strong language.
