THE RAILWAY MAN is a drama, based on a true story, about a man who is haunted by memories of his time as a Japanese prisoner of war. It is rated 15 for a scene of torture and moderate violence.

One scene shows the main character being 'waterboarded' by his captors. In other scenes, prisoners of war are shown being kicked and beaten with canes, resulting in some sight of bloody injuries.

At one point, there is sight of a man who has hanged himself.

The film also contains some discreetly implied sexual activity and some mild bad language.

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.
