PUTHIYA NIYAMAM is a Malayalam language drama about a woman who seeks revenge on a group of men who attack her.

Violence

There is a scene of sexual violence in which a woman is sexually threatened by three men who then rape her. The sexual violence is only implied, with sight of the men pushing the woman on the floor and dragging her onto a mattress, before a topless man is seen straddling her briefly. There are repeated flashbacks to the scene and verbal references to the woman's trauma.

Drugs

Characters are seen smoking joints and using a hash pipe. There are also verbal references to 'ganja', 'potheads', 'junkies' and 'addicts'.

Injury detail

The decomposing body of a man washes up on a beach. It is clear that his eyes have been gouged out. Blood is also seen coming from a man's mouth.

Other issues include moderate sex references in a scene where it is implied that a man is watching a sex video on his phone. There is also use of mild bad language.
