PUSS IN BOOTS is an animated film featuring the character of Puss from the SHREK films. Puss works with his old friend Humpty Dumpty and new acquaintance Kitty Softpaws to steal the legendary magic beans and find the Golden Goose. The film was classified 'U' for mild comic fight scenes and innuendo.

The film contains several exciting swashbuckling chase and fight sequences in which Puss and his friends fight off the bad characters. These involve some sword fights in which blades hit other blades, as well as some chase sequences between carriages in which the characters tumble around but are left unhurt. In one scene a bad character delivers a head butt to one of the central characters but the moment of impact is not shown as there is a flash of white to imply, rather than show, the contact. In other scenes the central characters face mild threat as they fall through the air from the giant beanstalk or are chased by an unseen monster. These scenes are more exciting than frightening and the characters break up the tension by making jokes amongst themselves. The scenes are permissible at 'U' where the BBFC’s Guidelines state there may be 'Mild violence only. Occasional mild threat and menace only'.

The film also contains some mild innuendo. In one scene, a man tattooed with various parts of the 'Jack and the Beanstalk' story offers to show another character the 'Golden Eggs' and starts to undo his trousers. He's stopped before he can reveal anything to the audience. In another scene, a cat starts licking himself clean and, below the edge of the frame, seems to lick his own genitals. The cat doesn't know that a man is watching until he cries out "Don’t let me stop you". These brief and infrequent moments of mild innuendo accord with the Guidelines at 'U' which state there may be 'Mild sexual behaviour (for example, kissing) and references only'.

PUSS IN BOOTS also contains a couple of scenes in which knives are seen to be carried but not used, and a joke about one of the central characters being caught with cat nip as if it was an illegal substance.
