Note: The following text may contain spoilers

THE PUNK SINGER is a documentary about Kathleen Hanna, an American musician and feminist activist.

Language

There are approximately forty uses of strong language ('f**k'). There is also some moderate and mild bad language, including uses of 'ass', 'assholes', 'bullshit', 'cock', 'crappy', 'shit' and 'whore'.

Sex

There are some strong verbal sex references, usually in the form of song lyrics. For example, one song includes the line, "You've got such a big cock. Push it in deeper".

There are also some undetailed references to sexual abuse. Elsewhere, the inside pages of a fanzine include a dark grainy black and white image of a naked prepubescent girl kneeling on the floor. Her breasts can be seen but the image is only briefly on screen.
