PRISONERS is a US thriller about a group of parents who take the law into their own hands when their young daughters are abducted. It is rated 15 for its child abduction theme, as well as for strong violence and strong language.

The film focuses on the reactions of the adults in the community, rather than following what happens to the children. There are no visual details of child abuse, although the subject is a highly emotive one.

There are several scenes of strong violence, as well as sight of bloody injuries, including in scenes where one character tortures another for information. There is frequent strong language ('f**k') throughout.

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.
