PLAYING FOR KEEPS is a US comedy romance. A former Celtic football star, who finished his playing career in America, has fallen on hard times. He dreams of becoming a television sports pundit but in the meantime has to settle for coaching a children's soccer team. The film is rated 12A for moderate sex references, language and brief gory images.

The moderate bad language comprises three uses of the term 'wankers', employed in a rallying cry of "Let's get those wankers" before the start of soccer matches. There is also some mild bad language, including the terms 'balls', 'bitched', 'bloody', 'bollock', 'crap', 'God', 'screwed', 'shit' and 'son of a 'bitch'. There is a self-directed use of the term 'spastic' by a woman but the film as a whole doesn't endorse discriminatory language or behaviour.

Verbal sex references include a woman saying to a man "When I tug my ear like this it means I'm imagining you on top of me", and one man boasting to another "I can confidently say I'm not sleeping with her, but I can't say the same about the woman standing next to her". There is also a scene in which a woman sitting on a counter kisses a man and wraps her exposed right leg around his waist

The brief gory images in PLAYING FOR KEEPS occur as a man and his young son watch a horror film on television. A reptilian monster is seen plunging its claw into a man's chest before tossing the victim onto the floor. There is blood but no discernible injury detail.

No-one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. No-one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video or DVD.
