PITCH PERFECT

PITCH PERFECT is a comedy drama about bitter rivalries in the world of competitive American college 'a capella' singing. It is rated 12A for moderate language and frequent moderate sex references.

The film contains several uses of 'bitch', both in exchanges between female characters and in the lyrics of songs that are being performed by the singing groups. Some song lyrics contain examples of implied strong language, such as "Eff you", although there are no uses of actual strong language. There is also some milder bad language, including uses of 'Jesus Christ', 'hell', 'damn', 'jerk', 'screw', 'dick', 'slut', 'shit', 'ass', 'crap' and 'douche-face'.

The college students make a number of verbal comments about sex, often in order to impress or insult or to emphasise the rivalry between male and female singing groups. There are references to having 'sexual relations', 'working out your sexuality', a 'no penetration' rule for members of a singing group, erections, STIs and lesbianism. Although the references are occasionally slightly crude, they are comic in nature and generally undetailed. Some song lyrics also include undetailed verbal references to sex.

There are some mild and comic verbal references to drug misuse, such as a character insulting another by claiming that kissing them would be about as appealing as taking drugs. There is no drug use and no endorsement of drug use.

No-one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. No-one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video or DVD.
