Note: The following text may contain spoilers

PETER GRIMES is a recording of an English National Opera production of Benjamin Britten's opera about a Suffolk fisherman accused of murder.

Language

The opera libretto contains one use of 'bitch', which is said aggressively about a woman.

Sex

In one scene, a man makes lewd thrusting movements behind a teenage girl's back and then grabs what he thinks is her hand, placing it on his crotch.

There is also some very mild stage violence and the oblique but unresolved implication that a man has taken his own life.
