PAULINE'S DIARY is a Ghanaian drama in which a women suffering from domestic abuse discovers a dark secret about her husband.

Violence

Scenes include women being slapped and whipped with a belt. There are occasional scenes of gun threat.

Injury detail

A woman shows an exposed chest wound while discussing her husband abusing her but the detail is not dwelt upon. In one scene a woman has a miscarriage with blood briefly shown dribbling from her mouth.

Language

There is infrequent moderate bad language ('bitch'). Milder terms include 'shit'.

Theme

The narrative features numerous references to domestic abuse, including occasional sequences of men beating or psychologically degrading women. Although there are passing verbal references to sexual abuse there are no scenes depicting such acts. The work clearly condemns the abuse of women and promotes a positive and empowering message.
