OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN is an action thriller in which North Korean terrorists seize control of the White House, taking the President hostage. A Secret Service agent who once guarded the President must save him and the country, which is now threatened by its own nuclear weapons. The film is rated 15 for strong bloody violence and strong language.

There are frequent scenes of strong bloody violence, many of which are both intense and prolonged. There is sight of bloody bullet impacts, including a man being shot in the head, and sight of blood pooling around bodies. In one scene a terrorist is tied to a chair and stabbed under the chin, resulting in some sight of blood as the knife is withdrawn. In another scene a woman is punched and kicked by a terrorist in order to extract information, leaving her face bloodied. There is also a close-up neck break and sight of a character being stabbed in the head. Much of the violence takes place in darkly lit surroundings and there is no dwelling on the infliction of pain or injury.

The film also contains over 30 uses of strong language ('f**k').

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.
