NINE is a musical, set in Italy in the 1960s, and which concerns a film director struggling to come up with a script for his latest picture.

Sex

There are several song and dance sequences that use burlesque imagery, including a strip tease routine. The dancing is sexually provocative, and there are also some sex references, including a female dancer telling her lover "I'll be here waiting, with my legs open".

Language

There is also infrequent moderate bad language (eg 'whore').

The film also contains frequent scenes of smoking by adults, and which reflect the time period in which the film is set.

There is also an implied suicide attempt, which is referred to in a scene in which a woman is attended to by a doctor, who explains that she took '...five or six pills'. However, the pills are not identified, and the doctor says that the quantity was only enough to make her very sick.
