A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is a US horror in which a group of teenagers are terrorised by Freddie Kruger, a monster who murders them in their dreams.

Violence: There are frequent scenes of strong blood violence which dwell on the infliction of pain and injury, including a sequence in which a victim is made to cut his own throat with a knife, and scenes of gory and mutilation. In another sequence, a man is disemboweled and hung upside down while still alive to endure a prolonged painful death.
Threat: The antagonist is revealed to be a paedophile who has previously abused his victims, and there are scenes in which he threatens female victims with sexualised violence.

There is frequent use of strong language ('f**k').
