NELLY is a French drama inspired by the life of the writer, Nelly Arcan, in which a fragmented woman is lost between her different identities.

Sex

Scenes of strong sex feature implied thrusting and breast and buttock nudity. There are also frequent crude sex references, including to women having sex with different clients.

Language

There is infrequent use of very strong language ('c**t') and frequent use of strong language ('f**k'). Milder terms include 'asshole', 'pussy', 'bitch', 'ass', 'cock', 'bastard', 'slut', 'God' and 'whore'.

Violence

A scene of sexual violence shows a woman being pressed against a wall while a man penetrates her with a dildo. The man slams the woman's head against the wall and then holds her down on a bed, threatening to kill her if she moves.

Scenes of drug misuse show people snorting cocaine.

A suicide scene shows three women attempting to take their lives. The scene includes shots of a woman taking unidentified pills and another shot shows a woman jumping from a balcony.
