NAACHIYAAR is a Tamil language drama in which the police work to uncover the truth after a young man is accused of assaulting his girlfriend.

Theme

The narrative concerns the rape of a teenage girl, described as a 'minor', and the subsequent police investigation. There are also frequent references to abortion in relation to young women who have unwanted pregnancies as a consequence of being raped.

Violence

A man is bound and gagged while a woman mutilates him below screen, with the sight of some bloodshed. Although detail is limited, the attack is sustained and there is a focus on the victim's distress and pain.

Threat

A woman's mouth is held open by metal braces while she is threatened with a drill during an interrogation scene.

The film also includes moderate sex references (for example, to 'obscene videos' and sexually transmitted diseases), and mild bad language such as 'crap', 'bloody', 'damn' and 'hell'.
