THIS MUST BE THE PLACE is a comedy-drama about a former rock star who embarks on a journey to right a wrong suffered in the past by his recently deceased father. This re-edited version of the film was classified ‘15’ for strong language and sex references.
The strong language is allowable under the BBFC's Guidelines at '15' which state 'There may be frequent use of strong language (for example, 'fuck')'.
A character boasting of his sexual conquests gives rise to several moderate sex references, including crude comments relating to ejaculation. Guidelines at '15' state 'There may be strong verbal references to sexual behaviour'.
The film also contains brief sight of a character smoking marijuana and references made by the central character to his use of hard drugs as part of his former rock star lifestyle. These moments neither glamorise nor promote drug misuse. The film also features archive photographs of Nazi concentration camp victims which show piles of bodies and other distressing images.
