MEN IN BLACK II is a sci-fi comedy sequel about an agency which tackles aliens on earth. The film is rated PG and contains mild fantasy violence, sex references and language.

There is mild fantasy violence throughout, with plenty of aliens exploded into goop by exaggerated sci-fi weapons, and some slapstick hand-to-hand combat. Notable scenes include a man fighting an alien who turns into lots of tiny aliens, each shooting tiny metal discs at him. He bats the projectiles away and is unharmed. A female alien is vaporised but reforms, only to be eaten by a giant slug-alien. Her tentacles are then seen coming out of the slug’s mouth and she grabs at the heroes, before being shot with one of their sci-fi guns. There’s a huge explosion and plenty of green slime, but no bloody or injury and the whole scene is comic and exciting.

The sex references include a female alien opening her coat to reveal underwear, saying she wants to be a model because “they tell me I have the body for it”. In another scene, a group of aliens enters a club advertising ‘XXX girls’ above the door. A man asks “What's up with anal probing? I mean, aliens travel light years to check out our…” but the conversation ends there, with no further discussion of what he means.

The film contains mild language throughout, with uses of terms such as ‘shit’, ’crap’ and ‘ass’. At one point a dog tells the story of how he defeated an alien, boasting “I said ‘Listen bitch, if you don't want me to kick your ass…’” The fact that this is a canine speaker, talking about a female and using the language in a literal fashion, lessens the impact of the word.

PG stands for Parental Guidance. A PG film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children.
