MAUDIE is a biographical drama about Maud Lewis, a Canadian artist who continued to produce paintings in spite of a debilitating physical condition.
- Violence
A woman with a physical disability is slapped heavily across the face by a man.
- Sex
A man is seen gently thrusting into a woman, with limited detail, as he lies on top of her in bed. After the sex ends the man says "I'd rather stick it into a tree". There are also milder sex references, including a use of the phrase 'love slave'.
There are several scenes in which a man is verbally abusive towards a woman, referring to her as a 'dog' and a 'cripple'. A woman experiences emotional upset while talking about the death of her child. There is use of mild bad language ('arse', 'damn').
