THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE is a black and while political thriller from 1962 about a platoon of US soldiers returning from Korea who believe they have been brainwashed.

Violence

Scenes of moderate violence include a man being strangled with a scarf, and a character being shot.

There is occasional use of mild bad language and mild sex references, as well as a scene set in a Korean nightclub which, it is implied, also operates as a brothel.
