Note: The following text may contain spoilers

MAN OF STEEL is a new version of the Superman story, covering his origins on his home planet of Krypton, his childhood on Earth, and his battle with super-powered villains from Krypton.

Violence

Battles between super-powered characters result in huge destruction and devastation as they throw punches and toss one another through buildings. During the course of these prolonged action sequences there are a couple of crunchy neck breaks but no injury detail is shown.

The film also contains some mild bad language. This mostly occurs during flashback scenes in which the young Clark Kent is being teased by a school bully. The scenes of Clark as a baby on his home planet show the baby lying naked in his spacecraft, but the nudity is entirely natural.
