THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS is an action film set in 19th century China in which a town becomes the setting for a battle to the death incited by revenge and the prospect of a fortune in gold. It is rated 18 for strong bloody violence.
The film is a modern take on the Hong Kong action films of the past and the violence is presented in a stylised and choreographed manner. The fighting scenes, in which there is a focus on bladed weapons, are sustained and feature an emphasis on copious bloodshed. There is also some dwelling on the infliction of pain and injury, for example in a scene in which a captive man's arms are cut off with a sword that has been heated in a blacksmith's furnace.
The film also contains strong sex references, brief drug use and strong language. Words such as 'nigga' or 'nigger' occur in hip-hop songs on the film's soundtrack, but when they are used in dialogue they are not endorsed.
No-one younger than 18 may see an 18 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger that 18 may rent or buy an 18 rated video or DVD.
