MALEFICENT is a US fantasy about an unhappy fairy who puts a dark curse on the baby daughter of the human king who stole her wings.

There are several sequences of mild fantasy violence in which the dark fairy, and other fantastical creatures such as wolves and walking trees, battle human soldiers. In these scenes, characters are often knocked over, or into the air, but no-one is seen to be injured. One character is seen to have small red marks on her skin when she's touched by a metal that can hurt her, but she quickly heals. Another character is knocked off a battlement and falls to his death but the impact on the ground is not seen.

There are some moments of threat and scary scenes, as the bad fairy looms over humans and other fairies as she casts her evil spell, then turns the landscape around her dark and gloomy. There's brief threat to a female fairy as a man stands over her with a knife, but he cannot bring himself to kill her. There is also some threat as a dragon attacks some soldiers, thrashing around a room and breathing fire over them.
