MADAMA BUTTERFLY is a live recording of an Opera Australia performance of the Puccini opera.

Suicide

The suicide scene occurs within the context of a performance and takes place off-stage. The character disappears into a room with a large knife and a man carries her lifeless body outside again, her clothing covered in blood.

The lyrics contains very mild references to a character's promiscuity, with a man singing 'He weighs anchor wherever the mood takes him.... He plucks flowers from every bench'. There is some very mild language, with uses of the terms 'god' and 'damn'.
