LOVING VINCENT is an animation drama about the last days of painter Vincent Van Gogh.

Suicide

Frequent references are made to Van Gogh having taken his own life, but the theme of suicide and mental illness is handled with sensitivity.

Sex

There is a brief sex scene when Van Gogh walks past a couple copulating in the street. Verbal sex references include the allegation that Van Gogh had contracted syphilis.

Injury detail

Scenes of injury detail include Van Gogh handing his severed ear to a woman and the sight of his bloody head following the ear slicing incident. Other scenes depict the aftermath of Van Gogh shooting himself in the stomach.

Bad language includes 'whore', 'dick', 'bloody' and 'bastard'. There are also two brief scenes of violence depicting fist fights.
