LONE SURVIVOR is a war drama about an attempt by US military personnel to capture or kill a notorious Taliban leader.

Violence

There are a number of scenes of strong battle violence, including sight of blood spurts as people are shot. Other scenes of violence include the implied killing of an Afghan man with a machete by members of the Taliban. Although the blows are not shown, blood is seen spraying into the air. There is also some sight of wounds, following acts of violence, including a man digging shrapnel from his own leg with a knife.

Language

There is use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker'), as well as some milder bad language, including 'shit' and 'piss'.

There are some verbal sex references
